A time honored tradition on the Delmarva Peninsula
Established: 1929
Recognized: 1932
Wicomico Hunt Club has organized meets every Wednesday and Sunday from September through March. The pack consists of American, Penn-Marydel, and Crossbred hounds. The terrain is broad fields, forest and wetlands along the rivers and tributaries to the Chesapeake Bay. Jumps are natural obstacles, some chicken coops and ditches. Uniquely, Wicomico Hunt still chases exclusively red fox.
Wicomico Hunt Club is grateful for the opportunity to continue the tradition of mounted fox chasing on the Delmarva Peninsula and would like to invite others to participate. If you would like to experience the beauty of nature, the thrill of the chase and the camaraderie of riding with others, we extend a sincere invitation to join us. Guests and new members are always welcome with the permission of a Master. A fox hunting clinic is offered each September for those who would like to learn more about fox chasing or introduce a green horse.
Please contact one of the Masters or the Secretary for more information about how to become involved in the exciting sport of mounted fox chasing.
